Harry Potters were amongst the first books I ever read. Mom brought me the first one when I must have been 7 or 8 and soon after came the films. I was, and still am, a huge fan of the saga; I’ve seen all the films hundreds of times, know the books by heart, even have an unofficial Harry Potter knitting book. I used to do my own little potions and once I even got hold of one of those movie displays from the fourth film. We had it around for years I recall! I still cry in certain chapters in most of the books not to mention how emotional I get in the last films.
So when I got to the WB Studios in Leavesden things really got MAD. All these other Potter fans, the genuine props and sets, the huge Hogwarts miniature… my godness. I wanted to cry at the end of the tour (which lasted for us over 3 hours), it was all so amazing. I kept thinking: ‘This is why I want to work within the field. This is what I want to do for living. This is just pure love and devotion.’

Great entry and I loved seeing your photos! I’m a huge Harry Potter fan (read the books and saw the movies SO many times and love them more every time!), but I’ve never visited the studios, so it was great to see parts of the tour through your pictures! Thanks for sharing 🙂
You’re welcome! Yay, connecting with fellow Potter fans, liking it! If you ever get the chance to come down to London please go and see the studios yourself, the tour is just fantastic! And it’s really worth the money (almost 30 quid for an adult ticket). Oh, longing back already…!

I’m packing my bags and going to the UK.
Well it’s not actually a museum, all the props and sets and costumes are the real ones used in the films and there are lots of other activities like flying an enchanted car or broomstick. So I wouldn’t really call it a museum 🙂 But if you love Harry Potter, you’re going to be bonkers in the studios!

Ha! You were right round the corner from me! I live across the road from the studio, the Knight Bus has been parked in the field since I was at college about 9 years ago. I’m so glad the tour was worth the visit, I haven’t been in yet, hopefully I’ll get the chance soon!
